Since her first ballet class at the age of 4, Braillyn has been a dedicated competitive dancer and movement researcher. She has always been intrigued by how our bodies move, and dance has been a therapeutic, lifelong practice. As a kid she followed in her mom and sisters footsteps and enrolled in every class she could, including tap, jazz, hip hop, and contemporary at Crested Butte School of Dance. When she was 11, she auditioned for Dance Tech Studios in Park City, UT, and got placed in their competition teams. She continued studying ballet, jazz, contemporary, hip hop, and started learning pointe, acrobatics, and choreography at Dance Tech. Braillyn also enrolled in dance classes at her school and got accepted to the Park City Dance Company. She performed in many concerts, and football halftime shows at her high school. After three years of competing and performing with Dance Tech, she moved to Oregon and started dancing in All That Jazz Dance Studio's Advanced Production team. Throughout high school, she danced 14+ hours per week, competing/performing in 7-10 pieces per show, and started choreographing her solos. After taking time off from dance to begin studying music production at Lane Community College in Eugene, OR, she found her way back to dance through LCC's dance classes. She took ballet and contemporary, received dance scholarships, and joined the LCC Dance Company while completing her degree in Audio Engineering. She choreographed for and performed in numerous concerts at Lane Community College, American College Dance Association, and Oregon Contemporary Theatre. She got accepted to work with Melecio Estrella and Ben Juodvalkis along with four others dancers on a collaborative contemporary dance piece where she incorporated her live-looping, singing and songwriting skills. Brailyn has had many different dance teachers and influences from when she was four until today. Although focused on her music studies at Berklee College of Music, Braillyn takes every opportunity to dance and explore movement as it continues to be her therapy, passion, and creative outlet.
